About Monika Ostermann

Picture of My Wife, Monika Ostermann

Monika and I both attend Calvary Chapel Church in Saint Petersburg, Florida. This is where we met, or as she says, this is where she stalked me. We had noticed each other long before we actually spoke. We'd exchange nods or waves as we passed by.

Finally, one day we started talking and before long we went on a week long trip to Las Vegas. During the middle of the week we were planning on a day-trip into the Grand Canyon. She did not know I was planning on asking her to marry me there.

As we hiked down into the canyon I tried not to think about the proposal that was ahead of me. It would just make me nervous. I had not planned what I was going to say -- I was just going to let my words pour forth naturally.

As we hiked down, the sun was setting fast and I knew we had to start hiking back up soon. If I wanted to propose in the Grand Canyon I had better do it quick.

I asked Monika to sit on a rock with me for a moment to enjoy the view. I snuck my hand into the backpack and grabbed the ring. As I stumbled over my words I told her that I knew it was meant to be and asked for her hand in marriage. She accepted. We were married on March 28th, 2004.

Monika is the kindest most generous person I know. She has enough love for everyone and always has a heart for those in need. Her favorite past-time is spending time with her friends and family.
