One great mistake we make about temptation is to feel as if the time spent in enduring them was all lost time. Days pass, perhaps, and we have been so beset with temptations as to feel we have made no progress. But it often happens that we have been serving the Lord far more truly while thus "continuing with him" in temptation, than we could have in our times of comparative freedom from it.
